CanIPhish has three plans: Free, Professional and Enterprise. This article explains how many employees each plan covers, how billing works, how your monthly employee licences are counted, and which features each plan includes.
For current prices, open the pricing page in your tenant (/platform/pricing) or visit caniphish.com/pricing. To buy or change a subscription, see How to purchase/upgrade a subscription. For quotes, invoices and payment methods, see Pricing FAQs.
Plans at a glance
| Plan | Employees | Billing |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Up to 10 employees | Free, with no time limit. No credit card is needed. |
| Professional | 11 or more employees | Monthly or annually. Paying annually saves 60% compared with paying monthly. |
| Enterprise | 25 or more employees | Annually only. |
The pricing calculator goes up to 1,000 employees. If you have more than 1,000 employees, or need a formal quote for an annual subscription of 100 or more employees, click Request a quote on the pricing page. For other quotes, email support@caniphish.com.
How employee licences work
The number of employees on your plan is a monthly allowance of unique employee email addresses that you can send phishing simulations and training to. You can see how much of it you've used on the Subscription & Billing tab, under Monthly Employee Quota.
- What uses a licence: an employee uses a licence the first time in a monthly period that they're sent a phishing simulation or assigned training. Sending the same person more phishing or training in that period doesn't use another licence.
- What doesn't use a licence: the number of people in your employee lists, and platform users (such as administrators) who aren't sent phishing or training. You can keep as many employees in your lists as you like.
- Removing employees: once a licence has been used, it stays used until your licences reset, even if you remove that employee from your lists.
- When licences reset: on the same day each month, not on the 1st. The day is set when your tenant is created, and it moves to the day you first buy a subscription. The Subscription & Billing tab shows how many days are left next to Monthly quota reset in.
What happens when you run out
Employees who have already used a licence this period can still be sent phishing and training. Nobody new is sent anything until a licence is free:
- Phishing emails that can't be sent show Failure - Email Quota Exceeded in campaign reporting.
- Training that can't be assigned shows Error - Maximum Quota Hit.
- Your administrators get an Employee Quota Exceeded notification in the platform, and your account owner gets an email.
To carry on, wait for your monthly reset or add more employees to your subscription (see How to purchase/upgrade a subscription). On Enterprise, Automatic Seat Upgrades can add licences for you, up to a limit you set.
Other monthly allowances
Some features have their own monthly allowance, based on your number of employee licences. They reset on the same day as your employee licences, and you can track them on the Subscription & Billing tab.
| Allowance | Size | Plans |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly API Quota | 200 calls for each employee licence (new Free tenants get 200 calls a month) | All plans |
| Monthly Email Analysis Quota | 100 analyses for each employee licence | Enterprise |
| Monthly Sandbox Invocation Quota | 10 sandbox sessions for each employee licence | Enterprise |
Partner-managed customer tenants can have a different API allowance.
For more on the API quota, see API Documentation.

Trials
- Free plan: there's no time-limited trial to sign up for. The Free plan doesn't expire, so you can use it for as long as you like and upgrade when you're ready.
- Enterprise trial: Enterprise trials aren't self-serve. If you'd like to evaluate Enterprise features, contact support@caniphish.com. When the team enables a trial, it lasts 14 days. On the Free plan, the Subscription & Billing tab then shows Enterprise Trial and the date it ends. A trial unlocks Enterprise features but doesn't change your number of employee licences. When it ends, your tenant goes back to its previous plan.
- Partner trial: the CanIPhish support team can turn on a 14-day trial of partner functionality for managed service providers (MSPs). Register interest on our Partner page or contact support@caniphish.com. A partner trial unlocks Customer Management, and you can create up to 20 customer tenants during it.
Partners and MSPs
To keep partner features after the trial, you need an Enterprise subscription with 100 or more users and a signed CanIPhish Partner Agreement. See Managed Service Provider (Partner) Requirements and Managing Multiple Customers.
Partners can bill their customers in one of two ways:
- Individual tenant subscriptions: each customer tenant has its own subscription, bought from inside that tenant, on the Free, Professional or Enterprise plan (Professional is billed monthly or annually, Enterprise annually).
- Single master subscription: one annual Enterprise subscription of 100 or more employees on your master tenant, with licences allocated to each customer tenant. Each active customer tenant uses at least 5 licences. Contact us to set this up. Once the billing mode has been changed, it can't be changed back. See Using A Single Master Subscription (License Allocation).
